ABU Admission Requirements for UTME candidates

Below are the requirements for candidates that wish to gain admission into ABU through UTME:

Candidates must possess at least, an O’level Credit grade in 5 different subjects (Including English language and mathematics). In this case, O’level result could be WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB or any equivalent.

Candidates must choose the correct JAMB subject combination which is in line with university’s directive.

Candidates must score at least, 180 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination to be offered admission into the university.

UTME Candidates must make Amadu Bello University their first choice of institution during JAMB registration. ABU does not accept second choice candidates for admission.

Candidates are expected to participate and pass ABU post UTME examination excellently.

Note: UTME aspirants of ABU should note that Amadu Bello University (ABU) allows two sittings results for admission. Thus, candidates can choose to use more than one O’level result for admission into the university.

ABU Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Below are the requirements for UTME admission into ABU, Zaria:

Direct entry candidates must also possess an O’level Credit grade in 5 different subjects (Including English language and mathematics).

Candidates must have ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in two subjects that are relatively to their area of study.

Direct entry candidates are required to purchase ABU Direct Entry form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

In some cases, Direct Entry candidates will be required to have up to a particular score in JAMB to be admitted.

Note: ABU also accept two sittings result for Direct entry candidates for admission. Thus, aspirants can choose to use more than one O’level result.
