At the age of 18, Laila Amaria Ali made a decision that would change her life forever -she decided to become a professional boxer. When she broke the news to her father, the legendary Muhammad Ali, he was less than thrilled. Boxing was a dangerous profession, and he worried for his daughter’s safety.
However, Laila was determined to carve her own path in the sport. Three years later, on October 8, 1999, she stepped into the ring for her first professional match against April Fowler.

One particular match stands out in Laila’s remarkable career. Faced with a rematch against a tough opponent, many believed Laila would finally suffer her first defeat. However, she defied the odds and emerged victorious. When asked how she managed such a feat, Laila simply said, “I remembered who my father is. He is Muhammad Ali, and I watched him.”
