The IBBU Art

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University’s (IBBU) environment resembles a charming shelter, where beauty shines and students find solace in the midst of a hectic academic world. All you have to do is walk through the university’s gates to see a beautiful green landscape.

The countless trees, ranging from majestic mango and cashew to the strong butter Shea, stand side by side in the wonderland, greeting students, staff, and visitors with their scattered and colorful branches.

The temptation of this environment is not merely limited to the entrance of the university; it extends throughout the university grounds. Trees stand around department buildings, not only for an artistic essence but also providing shade to the surroundings. It is fascinating to witness how the students have cleverly utilized the shade offered by these trees. Concrete seats have been constructed round the trees, gradually transforming them into calm relaxation centers.

Under these trees, students gather to relax, engage in discussions, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. One good example that represents this unique blend of nature and student life is the majestic shea butter tree resting between the Mass Communication and Political Science departments. There, a Fulani woman sells local delicacies, fura da nunu, a refreshing milk “concoction”. This place has become a hub for students.

The hostel areas, too, reflect this compelling mixture of architectural design building and the natural beauty through the complement of the trees. The deliberate incorporation of trees within the hostel premises brings an airy but open and charm, environment.

IBB University stands not just as an academic institution but as a living testament to the harmonious coexistence of education and nature. There, the corridors of learning are mingled with the leafy green, offering students a shelter where the pursuit of knowledge finds itself complimented by the beauty of nature.
