  • Ethiopia

Ethiopia is one of the few countries in Africa that has never been colonized by a foreign power. The country has a rich history dating back over 3,000 years, with the ruling dynasty claiming descent from the biblical King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. 

Ethiopia was officially founded in 980 BC, and its current population is around 109 million.

The country is currently led by President Sahle-Work Zewde, who was appointed by the country’s legislature in 2018, making her the first female president in Ethiopia’s history. 

Ethiopia’s government is a federal parliamentary republic, with the Prime Minister as the head of government and the President as the ceremonial head of state.

  • Liberia

Liberia is another country in Africa that has never been colonized by a foreign power. The country was founded in 1820 by a group of freed black slaves from the United States who wanted to create a new home for themselves in Africa. The country’s name, Liberia, means “land of the free” in Latin.

Liberia’s current population is around 5 million, and the country is led by President George Weah, who was elected in 2017. 

Weah is a former professional football player who played for AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, among other clubs. 

Liberia’s government is a presidential representative democratic republic, with the President as both the head of state and the head of government.
