Church and Other Buildings Which Looks Like Vagina Elicit Reactions

It is least expected to see images of a church’s entrance and other public structures that exactly resemble a woman’s private part go viral.

People’s knowledge of temple construction is that good artifacts are used, yet this particular temple disregarded convention and appeared distinct as a result.

1. The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California

For the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, Craig Hartman’s glass structure in the shape of pudenda won the design competition. According to the religious architect, it is meant to mimic either a Jesus fish or a bishop’s miter (those lavish headgear they don that look like teardrops).

The cathedral has been compared by some to “a beehive, an inverted basket, or a nuclear reactor.” Others claim it resembles a vagina.

The church quickly extended to Asia, and a few nations in Europe, and is now found in several African nations, including Nigeria, South Africa, and Cameroon.

2. San Francisco MoMA

The plain metal vagina that protrudes from a pile of cardboard boxes is how this museum, created by Swiss architect Mario Botta, is described. feminism’s fourth wave! Maybe something!

3. Chicago’s Crain Communications Building

According to an urban legend known as “The Vagina Building,” a woman created this vertically sliced building to combat the phallocentrism of skyscrapers.

Sheldon Schlegman, an architect at Epstein and Sons, is the actual person behind the design. An agitated representative for the company told Chicago’s 606 Magazine that designers “never had that thought in mind.” They had no desire to do that. You can rest assured that I don’t. But the name endured.

4. Rem Koolhaas’s CCTV building

Following the construction of the new CCTV headquarters in China jokes about how it resembled a person using the restroom flooded online, earning it the moniker “The Big Underpants Building.” However, things got much nastier when Rem Koolhaas had to deny claims that he purposefully constructed the building and its annex to resemble a woman bending down next to a penis.

In an essay titled “The Structural Similarity of the CCTV Headquarters and Hindquarters,” a critic by the name of Xiao Mo dredged up some explicit pornographic images from the book Content that show ladies posing next to images of Koolhass’s structure. The CCTV building, according to Koolhaas, “has no hidden meaning.”

5. Norman Foster’s Spaceport

The spaceport, which is in the desert of New Mexico, was created by Norman Foster for Richard Branson. From above, it is meant to resemble the Virgin Galactic brand mark of the eye with “an elongated pupil.” Norman Foster, whatever you say.

However, the images elicited a range of responses, with many expressing dissatisfaction with the building’s appearance.
