The Webometrics ranking, which is a bi-annual ranking of higher institutions of learning in the country, has once again named Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) as the top-ranked polytechnic for the sixth time. 

In the July 2023 ranking, the college not only retained its position but also moved up two steps, widening the gap between it and the first runner-up polytechnic by 17 steps. 

The Webometrics ranking uses both Webometric and Bibliometric indicators to assess web content impact, top-cited researchers, and papers published on research and publication platforms online.

YABATECH’s success is attributed to the consistent support given to relevant research units in the college, including providing the necessary tools needed by the Centre for Information and Technology Management (CITM) and implementing strategies to improve the quality and quantity of its web content. 

The school’s rector, Ibraheem Abdul, who assumed office in May 2023, has promised to lift the college to the topmost heights of academic excellence by putting in place the necessary structures to elevate the college to be among its global counterparts.
