As the sun set and painted the sky in soft gold, she looked at him, her heart beating fast. She smiled and said, “You are mine.” Her words weren’t about owning him, but about how much she cared for him.
She said it again, softer this time. “You are mine, not in a way that traps you, but in a way that says my heart belongs to you. It means I’ll always be here for you, no matter what.”
She held his hand, her fingers fitting perfectly with his. “You’re my safe place. You’re the one I want to share my dreams with, the one I can be myself around. You’re mine because, out of everyone in this world, you chose me. And that’s the best feeling ever.”

Her voice grew playful as she smiled wider. “You’re mine when you laugh at my silly jokes, even when they’re not funny. You’re mine when you let me steal food from your plate and never get mad. You’re mine when you try new things with me, even if they’re not your thing, just to make me happy.”
He laughed, a sound that made her heart feel full. “And you’re mine,” he said, “because you make my days brighter without even trying.”
She blushed but didn’t look away. “Being yours is my favourite thing in the world,” she whispered. “But I just wanted you to know that you’re mine too—my partner, my happy place, my everything.
As they laughed and talked, the sun disappeared behind the horizon, leaving the sky full of soft colours. In that moment, it didn’t matter where they were or what was happening around them. All that mattered was that they belonged to each other. Always.
